Ninth Grade Academy

At West Adams, students begin their high school experience in a Ninth Grade Academy. Students acclimate to high school in a structured environment with increased support and additional opportunities for community-building and intervention. The Ninth Grade Academy also assists these new students with developing a strong foundation of academic skills that helps introduce them to the rigorous high school academic culture. Students are introduced to the themes of the learning communities and are given the opportunity at the end of the year to choose which community they would like to join based on their career interests.
